About the Department: Housed within Woodring College of Education, the Human Services Program currently employs six full-time tenure line faculty, and graduates approximately 100 students each year. In addition to being offered on the main campus in Bellingham, the Human Services major is also available at an outreach site in Everett and via distance learning. The Program maintains a 38-year history of strong ties with a vibrant local and regional community of human services agencies and organizations. Position Responsibilities:
Teach undergraduate courses in the Human Services Program (for course listings see http://www.wwu.edu/hs/degree/courselist.shtml), which may include supervising practicum or internship students in field settings
Advise undergraduate students
Participate in scholarly activity and department, college, university, and/or professional service per the Department Evaluation Plan
Required Qualifications:
Earned doctorate at time of appointment
Minimum of two years experience working with human services agencies or human services- related research
Demonstrated commitment and ability to work with diverse students, colleagues, staff, and communities
Demonstrated successful teaching experience in higher education
Demonstrated engagement in scholarly activity
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated expertise through experience or educational background in direct service provision (e.g., clinical practice and interventions) or indirect services (e.g., human services policy, organizational management, program planning and evaluation)
Demonstrated experience in interdisciplinary scholarship, teaching, or practice
Demonstrated successful teaching experience as primary instructor in higher education settings
Demonstrated successful program and instructional design and delivery in distance education
