Six gun village and Fort Splash will also impress family members. The White Mountains area is also a prime rock climbing destination.

Visitors to the White Mountain region can take advantage of a number of hiking opportunities and can challenge themselves with climbing some of the well know "notches" in the region. They can also have a driving challenge by driving up the twisting and turning Mount Washington Road to the observatory. There is also a Mount Washington Cog Railway that transports guests throughout the region. Visitors to the region may also want to take part is ski opportunities like the Mount Cranmore ski area. It is an area that features 10 lifts, 25 intermediate and 16 expert trails. The area is not for the faint of heart as it presents 16 foot vertical drops. However, whether one is out to see some beautiful natural sites, out to ski or to do some simple tourism, the White Mountains certainly can leave visitors enthralled and hungry for more.

North Conway, as mentioned, is a town that is located in on the tip of the White Mountains and borders the coast of Maine. It is a relatively small town of only 2,149. It does provide support for those who are visiting or touring in the White Mountains. There are hotels North Conway NH that will serve the tourist population. Some of them are name brand facilities and others are just local establishments. Those who choose to find lodging in the area can find hotels that will suit their purposes as they choose to explore the White Mountains area, or ski Mount Cranmore.
